TA/Parser games recommendations

Thought I'd start this so that folk can link to recommended TA/Parser games.

I don't want to sound snobbish in any way, but if you could restrict your recommendations to Text Adventure/Parser, that would be appreciated.

You're interested in Quest games only, I assume?

I haven't played many tbh, but the very first one I ever played on here (coincidentally called First Times) probably remains my favourite.

I will obviously recommend mine :-) http://textadventures.co.uk/games/view/ ... -and-ruler
I like to see gaining XP, doing combat and shopping and I do not really find it on TA and so I try to make some myself.

Having said that, I did enjoy Jungle Queen - it is also a unique concept: http://textadventures.co.uk/games/view/ ... ngle-queen
Empire of the sinking sun was enjoyable and implements elements I like to see in an adventure text game: http://textadventures.co.uk/games/view/ ... inking-sun - You do have to use pen, paper and a dice - I would like to see that just all included with the game though
First Times was OK for me, but I prefer adventure.
The Luna Stone had some good puzzles and was well written: http://textadventures.co.uk/games/view/ ... -lunastone

Just had a go on that and I did feel it grabbing me in the same way the ones I used to play as a teenager did. Unfortunately, It has one very annoying element, and that is the 'clang' that loops every so often, scrolls the page down while you're trying to read the description of the opening room.

I was trying to find a way out of there, considering all the options, and then suddenly the page scrolls down because a 'clang' had been printed. I never got out of there, and would probably have persevered if I hadn't needed to keep scrolling back up to read the room description again.

you can type l (look) to get the description repeated. Or try and get out of the room a bit quicker. :p

It does lack a bit of polish but there's quite a lot of it done well.

Oh well in that case play Anchorhead and Christminster and Slouching Toward Bedlam. And Nightfall and City of Secrets

Will do, Marz... after me tea.

My top recommendation would be Spider and Web.

Those first three all link to Anchorhead.

It's just a ploy to get you to play Marzipan's favorite game.

I have no idea what you're talking about. If you'll check my post again, you'll see that clearly you are mistaken.

I'll admit that this is also a possibility.

Now some would suspect you went back and edited your post, but not I. Sorry for my mistake, I don't know what I was thinking.

The post was indeed edited precisely two minutes before the reply. :D
