Missing .dll

02 Jun 2009, 20:22I installed an older version of quest 3.53, and it installed fine, but, when I tried to run it, it said there was a missing .dll file. "MSVBVM50.DLL" to be exact. Does anyone know a way to fix the problem... other then downloading the newer version?
The Quest 3.53 setup doesn't include this required file - but you can download it from: http://download.microsoft.com/download/ ... vbvm50.exe

03 Jun 2009, 02:48Thanks Alex, but, now I get a runtime "6" error when I try to open an existing game asl
What game? Is it one from textadventures.co.uk (if so, which one? Is it designed for v3.x?)
If not do you get the same error in v4?
Error 6 is an "overflow" error which either means something is too big, or something caused it to get stuck in an infinite loop.

03 Jun 2009, 18:29ah, no, its one I created myself. I think I know how I can fix it though. I was using the newer ver. of Quest, and didn't like it. That's why I wanted to down grade. I can just recreate the game, and make the working changes.
What makes you prefer v3.53 to 4.0 or 4.1??
